Q: Can you prove Babism and Baha’ism had been supported by the Colonial countries?

A: After the termination of Babism sedition and according to Ali Muhammad Shirazi’s will, one of his followers called “Yahya Azal” entitled Sobhi Azal should have been replaced. (Bab’s successor). However, his brother Hussein Ali Nouri Mazandarani claimed for his succession and Manyazharullai [he who God manifest]. Additionally, he laid several claims, too. He claimed to be Imam Zaman and God, too. He gathered some people as his fans and called himself Baha and his followers as Baha’is. All these claims were laid by his brother Yahya Azal, too. He called his followers Azalis. These two brothers had disputes for being god. They called each other with the worst titles such as calf, beach and other hideous abusives. However, as if Hussein Ali Baha had served the Colonial countries more because he could avance by England’s supports and establish Baha’ism cult. According to documents, the Czar Russian government had supported Baha’is very much. This government let Babis to be active in that country freely and to establish  a temple called Mashrreq-al-Azkar in Eshq Abad which was the first one. This government also provided facilities for them to publish their works and books because they wanted to establish an assembly of Baha’is out of Iran to prevent Shiite and Islamic thoughts to be entered Russia. Consequently, Mirza Abulfazl Golpaygani ordered Eshq Abad Baha’is: “Pray for the glory and stability of the Majesty Emperor Alexander III.[1]”

The Ottoman government’s support

When Babis were exiled in Baqdad in 1261-1285 and Iraq belonged the Ottoman government, Babis were dependent on this government. Babis could be more active in Baqdad and they could slaughter the Muslim misusing this opportunity. In 1270 A.H. (that is, between the years 1270-1280) Tehran and Istanbul had a sensitive relationships. After Iran’s failure in Harat War in 1275 A.H. and Qajar kings and princes’ evadings Baqdad became a place of exile for the Iranian dissatisfied people. A lot of Babis headed off there.

Supported by the Ottoman government, Babis troubled the Shiite scholars. Shoqi Effendi mentions the Ottoman government’s support and Babis real natures: Babis were busy stealing the pilgrims shoes, hats and etc., at night. They were even stealing their books, written prayers and cups for drinking water during the decade of lunar month of Moharram[2]…

Baha’is support by Engaland and Baha’is involvement in politics

According to Shoqi Effendi in the book “Qarn Badi’a”[3]: Colonel Sir Arnold Kembel who was a general in the British government consul in Baqdad suggested Bahaullah to be supported by the British government; or to be transferred to India if he llikes, because Hussein Ali Nouri was being supported by the Russian government, rejected the England’s suggestion temporarily; but secretly had a good relationship with them.

At last, Babi’s became the England’s spies in the Ottoman land.

Abdul Baha receives the Sir title and knighthood medal by the British king

The British government bestowed the knighthood medal to Abdul Baha. Moreover, Abbas Effendi prayed for Georg V,  the then king of England in Palestine land.
